My second anecdote is about when my dad was in college. My dad went to college in hopes of becoming an engineer, but he lasted two years in college. My dad used to work full time at the 76 gas station while going to school. It got hard for him to manage both work and school. He decided to drop out of college because he couldn't give up his job or even work part time for school. My dad had to give up school because he had to work to support his family. His sisters were married and gone, so that left just his parents and him. His parents were too old to work, so he had to be the one to work and make enough money for his family.
My third anecdote is about when my dad was working a two days before Christmas. My dad was a mailman and still is. He started work that day at 6 a.m. It was really cold that day and my dad was going around delivering mail to people. He also had to use a flashlight when it got dark. He came home at 9 p.m. that day because he had to deliver so many letters.
